First mega transport from new Verolme facilities in Moerdijk
Wednesday, 16 December 2009 00:00

Today Verolme Special Equipment has completed her first large transport from the new facilities in Moerdijk.

For a refinery in Belgium, Verolme has built two large (fully dressed) pressure vessels.
Both vessels are transported to the RoRoDock close to our factory where they were loaded on a large barge.
further transport is done over water.

Raw dimensions of smallest vessel:
Length : ± 22m.
Diameter : ± 7m.
Weight : 96 MT

Raw dimensions of largest vessel:
Length : ±40 m.
Diameter : ±8 m.
Weight : 86 MT

At the Belgian refinery arises in the context of this project over the coming years a so-called High Pressure Hydro Treater (HPHT). This is a system that removes sulfur with hydrogen under high pressure from diesel. The new hydro Treaters will enable the refinery to produce more low-sulfur diesel. An important part is for export.
